Onto the Next

As we move into the next week of camp, we reflect and praise God for the opportunity we are given to minister to so many campers. On the last day of Youngteen, campers shared what they had learned during the week and how they had grown in their relationship with Christ.

One camper said they had been living far from Christ, not putting Him first, and ignoring the chances to minister to others. Now, they feel they can follow through with their faith, doing things for God instead of for themselves.

Another said the Lord showed them how to be faithful even in hard times. A few campers got reminders that He really cares and is always there, watching over them. It is humbling to hear campers say that they had been given the chance to grow closer to Him and to learn patience.

One last thought from the campfire, "my faith is not a lie, He will always be there."

Elmbrook Church Middle School "Mosaic" Camp

Elmbrook's middle school group arrived at Phantom Ranch on Sunday evening, praise God! After a good night of sleep, the campers all hurried down to the lake on Monday to take their swim tests so that they can enjoy the rest of the week on the waterfront. Monday was filled with many fun games, and two sessions of chapel. Wednesday, Elmbrook's campers took off for a mini missions trip. We are so excited to have "Mosaic" with us, and are hoping that God continues to move in the lives of these campers in profound ways.

Beating the Heat!

It's been another HOT day today. This morning we had our traditional greasy watermelon competition! I talked to several girls from the cabin, Texan before the competition and asked how their week was going so far. Several of the girls said they really loved tubing and are excited for banana boating. The whole cabin was super excited for the game called Conquest! Go, Diego, Go!

After dinner yesterday, the Roughriders played a Phantom Ranch first (and it seems, a new favorite) called "Diego's Animal Rescue". The relay race course began near the Bonfire pit, wrapped around the entire 5-acre field, and continued down the hill and to the beach. But the boys weren't passing off batons! They had to run with huge  blow-up water toys in the shape of an alligator, a sea turtle, a whale, or a dolphin. As they hit the finish line (the waterfront) the campers were able to enjoy their night swim with lots of fun toys like water guns, frisbees, and beach balls. Thank God for allowing the Roughriders to enjoy so much fun in the sun! Our Discoverers had a paper mache clinic in the afternoon. Half of the group also attempted to cross a "River of Monkeys" on the challenge course!
