Superteen ended on a high note! On Friday night the campers had the opportunity to share what they learned and experienced over the week. For many of them they shared their desires to continue to seek a genuine relationship with God when they are home. Some of the campers who are going into their senior year encouraged those younger than them to take advantage of the years they have left at camp and be vulnerable and open. The week went by so fast, but it was really fun!

On Saturday most of the staff drove up to Devil’s Lake State Park for a staff rock climbing trip. It was a great time of fellowship and relaxation. Being able to hangout off camp grounds was a special treat and a great way to end our camp weeks!

This week we have been hosting our partnership camp known as Urban Ministries Camp. This is a partnership of 6 Chicago city churches and youth organizations who come together to have a great week of camp. There were 104 high school students and 35 counselors and program leaders. This has been a great partnership, we work together in every way throughout the week. The Word of God is shared, students come to the Lord, repent, and grow close to Him.

This summer has been truly amazing! The spirit has been present and moving. Many kids made decisions to follow Christ for the first time or to recommit their lives to Him. We have had about 60 kids come to camp on scholarship. For many of these kids camp is the highlight not only of their summer but their year. Our scholarships are made possible only because of your donations, so thank you! Thank you also for all your prayers! Those have helped us stay motivated and focused all summer.

Sadly the summer is wrapping up. Next week will start our last phase of partner camps and summer retreats. This is the last blog post. I have had a pleasure sharing the summer and the happenings of Phantom Ranch with you all. Look for posts again in late spring of 2015!

On the last night of Superteen we had a banquet. All the campers were encouraged to dress up for the costume contest! The theme was Starry Night.

After the banquet the campers performed skits!
