Update for Wednesday

Can you believe that the week is already half way over? Crazy! What a week it has been!

The weather has been great and the kids are having a great time! Wednesday’s theme was Foul. Chapel times and small groups were focused on teaching and encouraging the campers to use language that is encouraging and uplifting. Sometimes at this point in the week the campers start to get a bit tired and can get a bit feisty with each other. This is a good time to teach them about using good and encouraging words!

For the Adventures, Wednesday was the day of the Pretty Pretty Princess! They had spent time the first few days of camp creating a dress for one of their counselors. All of the Princesses looked so pretty, and so did their escorts The girls had a blast at the Pretty Princess! To begin the event the princesses are escorted to the chapel by their princes. The princes were very creative and inventive with their transportation! After that everyone went into the chapel for the judging. Amy, Haley, and Hannah Johnsen were the judges this year. The judges had a difficult time, because all of the dresses were so great! After the contest the chapel speak Carol spoke to the girls about what it means to be a daughter of Christ and how that makes you a true Princess!

Yesterday, the Pathfinders had the opportunity to learn more new skills. They were able to choose between going to an auto class, long range archery, slackline, or orienteering. They were also able to do skill builders in the afternoon. Some of them chose to do the soccer skill builder. During which they were able to play soccer with Samuel Recalde, who used to play soccer in Paraguay!

Last night the Triple W girls had fun with Kacie O'Connell, their chapel speaker. She led them through a demonstration where they had to try some different kinds of chocolate. She had them taste milk chocolate first and then some bittersweet baking chocolate. The results were hilarious! The girls have been learning so much about horses and horse care, but they also have been able to do other activities at camp. Yesterday they were also able to play some fun games. They went on an animal hunt all over camp! Big floaty animals were hidden across camp and the girls had to find them. After that they went up to the bonfire pit to make s’mores!

As we enter into the last few days of camp, keep all the campers and staff in your prayers! We have had a few counselor injuries and they are starting to get a bit tired. Pray that the counselors will not be discouraged, but take every opportunity these last two days to positively impact their campers!
