Friday!

This week has gone by in a flash of sunshine and laughter. While the beginning of the week was a bit chilly, these last few days have been simply beautiful! The sun has been shining, and a cool breeze has been blowing.

Yesterday, the Discoverers spent the morning learning skills and finishing their flower pot craft! Then many of them spent the beautiful afternoon at the beach! Last night they joined up with the Triple W girls and played beach games. They had a blast building sand castles, burying each other in the sand, and competing against each other in a canoe tug of war! After the games they had chapel. Earlier in the week, Paula had the girls write down questions for her to answer. Last night she spent the chapel time trying to answer them. Some of them were very though such as “why is it impossible to not sin?” But they gave her the opportunity to teach the girls about the importance and power that the Holy Spirit has in our lives. After chapel the Discoverers headed to bed but the Triple W girls made some treats in the dining hall for their horses!

This morning the Discoverers walked to Elegant Farmer! They were able to get some of Elegant Farmer’s yummy treats and baked goods! This afternoon the girls have been busy swimming, tubing, making crafts and all the other fun things to do during camper choice.

The Roughriders also had a great time yesterday! In the morning, they played games in the field and then started to design their carts for the cart race. They only had an hour to design and build their carts, and the results were very impressive! Then in the afternoon they raced them!

Last night they had a special treat! They went to the Phantom Ranch Zoo! The horse barn was transformed into an interactive and educational petting zoo! The boys were able to see snakes, a puppy, mini horses, a chicken, tortoises, and bunnies! They had a lot of fun and asked some good questions.

This morning the Roughriders were sent on a special mission to collect clues and special objects around camp in a game call True Detective! The boys had fun solving the clues and running around camp while trying to avoid the camp bandits! Then after lunch they made kites that they will fly tonight after chapel.

This morning the Triple W girls had their final practice for their drill team, which they will perform tomorrow at the parent show. Tonight they will be performing bible skits that they have been working on all week!

This week has been great! We have felt your prayers no serious injuries or accidents happened, the Spirit has been moving in the lives of the campers, and all of the counselors have been strong. The campers have been learning so much during chapel and small group times. They have been asking deep and thoughtful questions. We have also been blessed this week by some awesome chapel speakers! They have gone out of their way to get to know the campers and impact them this week!
