Friday!

Last day of camp! We couldn’t have asked for a better week! The weather has been great and so have the kids! We will be sad to see all the campers go, but hope to see them again next year!

Yesterday morning, the Adventurers had fun at the beach! They had a sand castle making competition and played sink-a-canoe. During skill builders they had the choice between so many fun activities such as drawing and archery. Then in the evening they had a pajama party! They had so much fun dancing and goofing around. Then they all settled down to watch a movie and eat some popcorn!

Today the Adventurers watched a special video in chapel about Gabby Douglas, the Olympic gold medalist in gymnastics. Gabby has a strong faith in Jesus, and in her video she credits all her accomplishments and talents to Jesus. Carol told the girls that God also has a plan for each one of them. She encouraged them to continually put their trust in God and the plans He has for them.

Thursday night the Pathfinders had fun doing the Egg Relay! As a cabin they had to work together to transport eggs through an obstacle relay course; trying to keep as many eggs as possible intact. After the relay race they had chapel. During chapel Samuel talked about king Hezekiah, and how pride became his downfall. He encouraged the boys to always keep their pride in check. The boys have enjoyed having him speak to them every night!

This morning the Pathfinder boys started out with breakfast at the bonfire (the girls all ate in the cabins). The whole meal was cooked by our staff over the fire. Banana bread, bacon, sausage, hash browns, scrambled eggs, and eggs to order were all on the menu. Though one cabin overslept and came late, they all had plenty to eat and ended up refusing to eat any more.
Today the boys have been able to play some of their favorite games such as Kubb, volleyball, soccer, and carpetball. This afternoon they went up to the horses for a trail ride and lesson about grooming and horse care. Tonight they will be playing the Phantom Ranch favorite Greasy Watermelon!

The Triple W girls have been learning so much about horses! Yesterday, Riley, one of the head wranglers, taught them how to do some special tricks while riding. They learned how to ride with no hands, rotate around on the horse (while it was moving), and kneel and lift up one leg! They were pretty amazing! In addition to what Riley taught them, they also learned how to ride bareback and how to give a horse a bath! Last night they had fun coming up with skits that combined bible stories and disney movies, and then performing them for each other. They also celebrated their counselor, Katherine's birthday!

Today the girls spent time rehearsing their drill for the show tomorrow. They were also given a lesson on driving. This afternoon they all had archery lessons, and are now in free time! Tonight we have a special Spa Party planned for them!

We hope that all the campers had a great time this week and we hope that they have learned more about God! Today’s theme is Game On. We have been encouraging the campers to continue to seek Jesus when they go home. Also, we hope that they will tell their friends and family what they learned about Jesus this week!
