Camp Update for Tuesday!

On the second day of camp the theme was Teammates! As campers learn more about Jesus we want them to realize the importance of having a team of believers around. This team will help them stay strong and committed to the Lord throughout their life. These teammates are especially important when they go home and start school in the fall. They need wise friends who will be good influences on them!

On Tuesday morning the Pathfinders did more team building exercises. Sometimes the challenges were frustrating and difficult for the campers. However, it's worth it in the end.
As one boy said, "When we first got here we all were quiet and didn't know each other, but now we are more of a team. We are all like 'come on we can do this!' Doing team building has made our cabin a better team!"

Also on Tuesday, the Pathfinders were able to make dinner over the fire! They made hobo dinners! Each boy was able to prepare their dinner for themselves with help from their counselors. One boy said it was the best dinner he ever had!

For the Adventurer girls, they have been learning team building through the Pretty Pretty Princess contest. As a cabin/team they make a dress for one of their counsellors out of a bed sheet and other crafty items they find around camp. Each cabin was given a bed sheet Monday night and they have until Wednesday night to complete the dress. The girls love working on the dresses, and they turn out amazing! As a team they have to come up with a theme and work together to make the dress. The Pretty Pretty Princess not only lets the girls use their creativity, but also helps them learn how to work together as a team!

The Adventurers haven’t just been working on their Pretty Princesses dresses. On Tuesday night they went to a rodeo! The girls had a blast, and some of them were able to pet a horse for the first time!

The Triple W girls have the opportunity to work as a team as the come up with their drill team choreography. Then they have to work as a team to learn and practice the choreography. Finally at the end of the week they will perform the drill for their parents! Yesterday night they had the chance to see the Phantom Ranch Wrangles perform an amazing drill. Hopefully, the performance inspired them!

We hope that the lessons the campers learn this week will stick with them when they go home! One of our goals for the campers, while at camp, is to start a life long relationship with Jesus. They are going to need good teammates to help them stay close to the Lord!
