Youngteen 2013

Youngteen campers arrived here on Sunday night, all very enthusiastic to be spending the week here at Phantom Ranch! It's only Tuesday, and we've already been having so much fun. It's great to see these campers making new friends and memories. These kids are doing it all! They really seem to be enjoying the time they get to spend with their cabins during the day, whether it be horseback riding, playing paintball, banana boating, making crafts, or playing on the new water mat on the lake! Not to mention all the awesome group games going on. Youngteen camp has split into 4 teams: The Purple Powwa People Eaters, The Mellow Yellow Rangers, The Orange Russian Parking Tickets, and The Green Lanterns. (Don't ask me where they got the names, but props to them for creativity). They will be competing against each other all week, earning points for their teams through group games, answering trivia, and winning Cleanest Cabin. I will be updating the standings later in the week.

I've had the chance to get to know some of the girls in Winchester cabin through our "Adopt-A-Cabin" program, which is a huge blessing. Last night, the counselors of Winchester and I had a talk with the campers about a sometimes touchy topic with middle school girls- modesty. Praise God for putting questions and a longing to please Him in the hearts of these campers!

Speaking of hearts, the theme for the summer is "Guard Your Heart". Josh Koskinen will be speaking all week on the subject. Please come along side the staff here as we pray that the gospel is brought to life for each of the campers and that God's love would be made known to them.

Such a blast playing Surge tonight, even though it was a little cold and rainy!
