Ashley: HSMT 2012
My name is Ashley and I'm on the High School Mission Team (HSMT) here at Phantom Ranch. I'm working with Kara today in Parent Communications as part of my training.
I was here a few weeks ago for Phase I of HSMT. The first part of the week was spent at a rock climbing trip in Devil's Lake. It was an amazing experience. The team bonded over rock climbing, swimming, hiking, having sessions, praying, laughing, traveling together, and much more. At the end of the week, I felt closer to my team and closer to God.
I returned for Phase II on Sunday, excited to see what God has planned for this week. Yesterday I spent the entire day shadowing/acting as a counselor for a girls' cabin, Lazy Q. Yes, it was exhausting, but it was totally worth it. I shared my testimony with them before they went to bed last night and will continue to pray for the girls.
Today I'm learning what work is like in a different area -- Parent Communications. The rest of my week will be spent working on dish crew, CCH, and waterfront. Each HSMTer's schedule varies with different jobs and days they are assigned to work. So far I'm really enjoying my time at Phantom Ranch. Please keep us in your prayers for the remainder of the week.
