Counselor Training

Counselor training is in full swing this week! Since arriving last Friday, our summer counseling staff has been working hard to prepare for a great summer. Counselors are an essential part of a camper's experience at Phantom Ranch. We've talked about understanding camper needs, overcoming homesickness, and how to take advantage of teachable moments. From hearing the stories and advice of those with past counseling experience, our newest counselors are equipped to handle specific situations that may arise.

This weekend, counselors learned how to write their testimonies in a way that will reach campers of all ages, engaging them with a personal account of how they met Christ. Knowing how to confidently and clearly tell their stories is essential to sharing the Gospel with campers.

Counselors spent an afternoon at each camp activity so they can help campers participate in the fun things we offer such as canoeing, archery, and disc golf.

We spent a morning discussing the verses and lessons that campers will be exploring in their daily cabin devotionals.

Counselors learn how to properly fit and wear a life jacket at the Waterfront,
and how to paddle a canoe!

Counselors are ready to serve! We hope you're as excited for this summer as we are!
