Superteen Day One!

SUPERTEEN!!! This week is action packed, exciting, spiritual, and a bit sad. This is our last week of programed camp, and, for the high school seniors, it’s their last week as a camper. Next week starts the next round of church camps. While we love our church camps its not the same as when one our sessions are in progress.

As you may know from past blog posts, today’s theme is Start. The verse for today is Proverbs 16:9 (NLT) “We can make our plans, but the Lord determines our steps.” God wants us to completely surrender our lives and actions to Him. Today we will focus on how God desires for us to surrender our plans and actions to His control. We need to be certain that the plans that we make for ourselves are in accordance with God’s will. Also, we hope and pray that the campers who do not know Christ as their savior will make the choice to start following Him this week.

Yesterday the campers jumped right into the activities of camp. After dinner they had a cabin activity and then, as a cabin, played the camera game. Then they headed up to the chapel for orientation, worship with the band Pursuit, and a message from the chapel speaker this week.

This week we have the privilege of having Scott Phelps teach in chapel. He is an author and is the Executive Director for the Abstinence & Marriage Education Partnership. Use this link http://www.ampartnership.org/programs/speakers/scott-phelps.html to see his full bio and learn more about the A&M Partnership.

After chapel the campers were split up into the team that they will be on for the week. These teams will be competing in games and events all week. The campers also have the opportunity to earn cabin points that will go towards becoming the Honor Cabin. This morning the campers played the first team game, Plunger Ball! They had a blast!

We are  pumped and excited for this week! We can’t wait to see what God is going to do this week in the lives of these campers. Please pray for them. Pray also for energy, strength, and wisdom for the counselors and staff. This summer has been so amazing, and we want to finish strong this week!
