Beatin' the Heat!
1. There are water jugs with cups (for campers without water bottles on hand) placed all around camp. This includes the waterfront, the five acre field, the hollow, the dining hall deck, paintball, the horse barn, and more.
2. Children at play on the waterfront have a mandatory "water break" every 45 min to an hour.
3. Triple-W girls take water breaks between every class at the barn/arena and are encouraged to keep their water bottles on hand.
4. We are keeping these children in the shade! Programming staff is prepared to reschedule any activities that may be too heat intensive on such a hot day.
5. All of our buildings, including the cabins are air conditioned.
6. Counselors are alert as how often each of their campers have stopped to take a drink and monitor each child's water intake.
Your campers are in good hands among the staff! It's going to be a great day and we won't be letting the heat beat us! Discoverers are up at Paintball this morning, staying hydrated all the while and hanging out in the shade of the trees as they wait their turn. Triple-W campers are at the barn for horsemanship training with plenty of access to water. Roughriders are playing flag tag and hitting up the water stations!
Keep praying for your campers on this sunny day!
