HSMT Phase II
Ashley:
It's the second week of Phase II for High School Mission Team. The first half of HSMTers (well, most of us...) left on Saturday, and the second half arrived on Sunday.
This week is very similar to last. HSMTers are assigned different jobs to experience each day. Guys and girls stay in separate staff cabins and have an RA instead of a counselor.
Personally, I've never been a camper at Phantom Ranch nor have I ever been a staff member. HSMT is the first camp experience I've ever had. It's so unique though.

"You have more responsibility as a HSMTer than a camper. I appreciate dish crew a lot more now. Without dish crew, you can't eat."
- Ana, HSMT
It's true. Most people have no idea how much work goes on behind the scenes. It'll be interesting for those of us going to Superteen next week as campers, being served instead of serving.
Working isn't all we've done, though. The first week of HSMT we had a lot of learning sessions. We learned about sharing the Gospel, sharing our testimonies, praying, and growing closer to God over all. We started habits of spending time with God every morning, whether we're reading the Bible, writing in a prayer journal, or just talking with Him. These are things I want to take home with me and practice daily because I realized how important my relationship with God has become.
It's really cool to see how God's Word is applied to us in a work environment. So much spiritual growth has occurred in many of our lives.
We only have half a week left of HSMT Phase II, but please pray that God will continue working in our lives long after we leave.
